There are many places located on Lancaster Blvd that unfortunately not many people know about. One of them being the Museum of Art and History (MOAH), the MOAH exhibits focus on post-war American art with an emphasis on California art. They also exhibit artifacts from the Antelope Valley, while promoting art created by locals.

“The art is very modern which appeals to young audiences like us, seeing their most recent exhibit made me really want to research more into the background,” said Kassandra Tejeda (10).

The museum has three floors, all of which have different art that the people can enjoy. Having separate floors for the different art allows the visitors to truly engage and look deeply into the art that is being presented to them. There is another part the the MOAH located a few blocks away known as the MOAH Cedar. In this museum they “encourage progressive ideas and experimental genres of artwork.”

“I haven’t been able to go unfortunately, but I would absolutely love to go and go to the rooftop and overlook the boulevard,” said Janice Vidal (12).

They have exhibits that are relevant to the Antelope Valley, some of their most important ones are created to allow students to submit their work and show the community their talent. The Museum hosts the Annual Juried All-Media Art Exhibition and Annual High School Student Exhibition. The Annual High School Student Exhibition allows high school students that are interested in art to submit their work and get others to see their work and the talent that they possess.

“I would like to submit my work so that I can become more recognized as an artist,” said Emilio Silva (12).
